Grand Theft Auto VI arrives on 19 November 2026 – but only on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S at first. The question we hear most: when is GTA 6 coming to PC, and what kind of PC will it need? Here we separate what is official from what is rumour – and give you an honest view on the hardware that matters.
What is confirmed
| As of October 2026 | |
|---|---|
| Release date | 19 November 2026 |
| Platforms | PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S |
| Digital pre-load | from 12 November 2026 |
| PC version | not officially announced |
| PC system requirements | not published |
Take-Two, Rockstar Games' parent company, has reaffirmed the date several times this year. GTA 6 had been delayed twice before: from 2025 to May 2026, then to 19 November. Take-Two's release schedule for its current fiscal year (ending March 2027) lists GTA 6 for PS5 and Xbox only – there is no PC entry. In September, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said PC is becoming increasingly important to the company, but he gave no date.
When is GTA 6 coming to PC?
There is no official date. On 13 October 2026, the US trade outlet GamesBeat reported, citing four anonymous sources, that Rockstar is targeting the first quarter of 2027 – January to March – for the PC version. Rockstar did not comment. Treat that window as a rumour, not a release date.
History shows why PC players usually have to wait for Rockstar games:
| Game | Console | PC | Gap |
|---|---|---|---|
| GTA V | September 2013 | April 2015 | approx. 19 months |
| Red Dead Redemption 2 | October 2018 | November 2019 | approx. 13 months |
| GTA VI | 19 November 2026 | not announced | – |
If the report proves accurate, the gap would be much shorter this time.
What hardware makes sense?
Without official requirements, nobody can honestly tell you how many FPS your PC will reach in GTA 6. What we can offer is a reference point from a current, demanding open-world game. The figures below come from our PCHM performance index and show Cyberpunk 2077 – explicitly not GTA 6 results:
| Graphics card | 1080p | 1440p | 4K |
|---|---|---|---|
| GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB | 116 | 75 | 35 |
| GeForce RTX 5070 | 159 | 106 | 50 |
| Radeon RX 9070 | 167 | 116 | 57 |
| Radeon RX 9070 XT | 180 | 125 | 63 |
| GeForce RTX 5070 Ti | 181 | 125 | 60 |

Our take on a PC that is well prepared for the next big open-world games:
- Graphics card: At 1440p and high settings, an RTX 5070 or RX 9070 already reaches around 100 FPS or more in Cyberpunk 2077. If you want headroom for years, look for 16 GB of VRAM for high-resolution textures.
- Memory: 32 GB of dual-channel DDR5 – already fitted in many of our gaming PCs.
- SSD: a fast NVMe SSD. There is no official install size yet – unofficial estimates point to around 200 GB, and the current PC edition of GTA V already requires around 105 GB. 2 TB gives you room for several big games.
- Processor: a current 6- to 8-core CPU is enough for smooth gameplay; an X3D processor such as the Ryzen 7 7800X3D or 9800X3D adds headroom at high frame rates.
Buy a PC now or wait?
Honestly: if you want a PC only for GTA 6, there is no rush. At launch on 19 November the game runs on consoles only, and the real requirements will come with the official PC announcement. If you need a new PC anyway, plan with headroom in VRAM, memory and storage. We build every PC to order in Erftstadt, Germany, and you can adjust every component in the configurator.
Our PC performance index calculates the performance you can expect in around 20 current games – including a PC advisor that suggests systems for your budget.
